MAS is an acronym for the Arabic phrase "For The Sake of Syria.” It is the motto of our Economic Group. A miniature image of Syrian society, MAS is composed of men and women who are true believers in Syria, for all that it stands for. These fine young people work relentlessly with all members of society, striving for collective development that enriches both the mind and heart. One of its fundamentalist theories at MAS is corporate social responsibility towards Syrian society.

Working first in agricultural products, MAS Group was established in 1980. We were pioneers in the Arab world in building greenhouses (protected farming). Our activities then developed to breeding bees and quails, eventually becoming the top suppliers of these two products in the industry. We soon found ourselves in the fruit and vegetables domain, channeling Damascus products to every dinning table across the world. Within a short period of time, we once again expanded, and established a parallel factory for canning cold and luncheon meat, in addition to another factory for metal cans.

We then headed on to food preservation, establishing a factory for packaging coffee in vacuum sealed bags, a cheese factory and two other ones for luncheon meat. We pioneered in this domain as well, and in producing various flavors of stuffed olives since Syria is considered one of the most renowned producers of olives in the world. We were the first to export Capers from Syria to the rest of the world, and now Syria is exporting the worth of $20 million of Capers. Our activities are by no means confined to food projects only. We penetrated the industrial field, along with service development both nationally and internationally. We also entered into a strategic partnership with Orascom for Construction and Industry to establish a cement factory with an annual production capacity of three million tons, moreover, we established along with Balhasa International, and Hirsch & Cie, a Company for real estate development under the name of "Palmyra Real Estate Development". Our Group is not a mere industrial group but is an interactive group within itself and society. MAS became a supporter of social, cultural, athletic and humanitarian projects. It also fostered and promoted two cultures; ‘volunteerism’ and ‘homeland lover!’

We have been honored with consumer loyalty and appreciation by society as a whole. We tried to reciprocate by saying, “One who doesn’t give cannot take.”

Our prayers and ultimate wishes are to always work for the “Sake of Our Country Syria.”
